a short list of irrational worries November 13, 2007
so if my brain were a computer, let’s say a PC (even though i’m totally a mac girl), and you hit ctrl-alt-delete to see what programs were using the most memory or ram or whatever, my background worry program would be off the charts. this program would be one of those ones that runs in the background and has no purpose other than to suck up memory and such. my worrying is basically a virus in my brain.
so maybe writing some of them down will make them seem silly and i will stop? probably not. here goes anyway:
A SHORT LIST OF IRRATIONAL WORRIES
+ that i will lose control of my motor functions while my foot is on the brake and hit the pedestrians crossing the street at a red light.
+ that the one grey hair i found today has many friends ready to hatch and one day i will go prematurely grey.
+ that the cat’s newest behavior is a result of the diet that she’s on (see video below).

so yesterday i had all this stuff i wanted to write about, but told myself: “you have a whole month of posts to fill up, wait until tomorrow.” and now what? oh yeah, i can’t remember any of it!! grrr…
i guess i’ll just throw up* some pictures of stuff i want. cause that’s good. and interesting. and not boring (you see what i did there – i used sarcasm). the new trend is “buy homemade”, so i will exclusively post from etsy.

today is blog action day, so i am reminding you that shutting off your computer for a few hours will not be the end of the world. in fact – it will probably help the world.
A LIST OF THINGS I AM DOING TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT
- not turning the heat on in our apartment yet. it is like zero degrees in here. i have five layers on right now. not even an exaggeration (leotard, tank top, long sleeve shirt, furry sweatshirt, coat).
- using those sweet re-usable shopping bags from wegman’s. which, by the way, can hold a ton more groceries than plastic bags.
- growing tomato plants.
- driving my dad’s hybrid because he stole my car.
A LIST OF THINGS I PROBABLY SHOULDN’T BE DOING
- driving 4 hours to albany to get my bike (to ride to and from s. campus… right) and then not taking it out of my car for 3 months. then driving it home again.
- living a million miles from campus. (negated by hybrid car-use)
- keep promising myself that i will buy those squiggly lightbulbs and then forgetting and buying the regular ones.
lazy is louder than words September 1, 2007
trying to make up for a month’s lack of posting is kind of hard, so i’ll just not try.
and because i’m lazy (see last post) i will use pictures instead of words.
EVENTS THAT HAVE TRANSPIRED SINCE JULY
1. my tomato plants out-grew my dads but i had to leave before they produced more than 3 mini-tomatos. so sad.
2. i got new teacups.
3. sara and i are training the cat. unsuccessfully. sara is training her to stop meowing at 3am. i am training her to be a trapeze artist.
4. we went to a bills game. i went to two bills game. nate went to one. i sat in sara’s season ticket so-close-you-can-see-their-cute-little-pants seats. nate sat in the nosebleeds. i drank a whole 24 oz. beer. nate drank some watered down sprite. suck it nate.
5. i went back to school.
